Biography
Ewen Wang
Ewen Wang (王志), known by his pen name Danyi Wang (号王丹一, also Ye Wang), was born in 1957 in Bozhou City, Anhui Province. He graduated from the Institute of Ancient Books of Jilin University and is a member of the China Artists Association and dean of Jingzhong Academy of Painting and Calligraphy.
His practice spans oil painting, traditional Chinese ink painting, printmaking, Iwasai mineral painting, sketch, and calligraphy. His work is rooted in the classical Chinese literati tradition while engaging with contemporary visual language. Multiple works have been selected for national exhibitions organized by the China Artists Association and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
